Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Plasma

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Plasma is a clinical biomarker on the Inflammation panel, reported in pg/mL. Standard reference range: 31–86 pg/mL. Functional (optimal) range used by integrative practitioners: 31–86 pg/mL.

What is Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Plasma?

VEGF is a signaling protein that drives angiogenesis and vascular permeability in response to hypoxia and inflammation; in functional medicine it is used as part of the Shoemaker biotoxin/CIRS panel, where low levels are thought to reflect impaired capillary oxygen delivery. Range shown is EDTA plasma (Quest 31–86 pg/mL), the specimen used in the Shoemaker CIRS panel. Interpretation: below 31 pg/mL is low and fits the CIRS pattern; 31–86 pg/mL is normal; above 200 pg/mL is an elevated concern. Serum results run much higher and belong on the VEGF, Serum marker.

How SomaVue interprets Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Plasma

SomaVue maps every result for Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), Plasma against four clinical lenses — nutrient cofactors, toxin exposure, infection drivers, and circadian/hormonal context — and connects each interpretation to specific peer-reviewed citations. Pre-mapped clinical reasoning and cross-marker pattern detection are available inside the practitioner workspace.
